ROVA Adventure Fifty-Two, December/January 2025–2026
It doesn’t matter how many people are out on the road, how many dreams are being fulfilled in campgrounds around the nation, or how much we learn about road‑tripping from blogs, social media and fantastic magazines (*ahem*)—everyone’s adventure is different.
The best place you’ve ever visited while traveling might be someone else’s worst. Maybe you like to drive in silence, while others blast seventies show tunes to fill in the time. Your rig might be barebones but comfy, while others have a full kitchen, recliners and a stargazing deck.
The point is, regardless of the commonalities that we all share with other adventurers, every person’s road trip is uniquely theirs, from the destinations to the experiences and the ways in which we interact with the landscapes and each other.
In this issue of ROVA, Carter Johnson shows us how he tackles an epically long drive; Clinton Harris shares the things that people take in their rigs to make them feel more like home; Eric Beuning looks at a range of new RV models that will hit the market next year, with something for everyone; and we share some unique state parks for all types of travelers to enjoy.
Also in this issue, a tribute to 100 years of Route 66; our biggest ever gear guide; a father‑son adventure on Texas highways; some unexpectedly lovely experiences in Wisconsin (yes, there is cheese involved!), and a whole heap more.
It might be winter, but that won’t stop us from chasing heart‑warming and soul‑filling escapades in the small towns, big cities and sweeping landscapes of this immense and incredible country.
Wherever you find yourself this winter, go your own way, find the things you love, and make the experience perfectly yours. There’s no other way to do it!
Happy travels, my friends.
